Information handled by TheFootballThing is used to:

  • Create and maintain your account.
  • Identify your player profile when you sign in.
  • Save and display your weekly football selections.

Firebase and service providers

TheFootballThing uses Google Firebase to provide account authentication, cloud data storage, server-side functions, and other technical infrastructure.

Information handled by Google is subject to Google’s applicable privacy policies and service terms.

Public information

  • Your display name, player number, player icon, rankings, football prediction record, and certain statistics may be visible to other users.
  • Members of a private league may be able to view the profiles and statistics of other league members.
  • Friend requests, friendships, league invitations, and league membership may be visible to the users involved.
  • Do not use a display name or league name that contains private, confidential, or sensitive personal information.

Sharing of information

  • TheFootballThing does not sell your personal information.
  • The developer does not share your personal information with advertisers.
  • Information may be processed by service providers, such as Google Firebase, when necessary to operate the app.
  • Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce app policies, protect users, prevent fraud or misuse, or protect the rights and safety of the developer or others.
  • If you choose to share the app through your device’s sharing feature, the content you share is sent through the external app or service you select.

App features and device behavior

If you open an external website, app marketplace, email application, or sharing service from TheFootballThing, you leave the TheFootballThing app experience.

The privacy policy and terms of the external website, marketplace, application, or service will then apply.

Permissions

TheFootballThing only requests device access reasonably necessary to provide the features you choose to use.

Internet access is required for account authentication, cloud data storage, football selections, statistics, rankings, friendships, leagues, and other online features.

Data security

However, no internet transmission, cloud service, account system, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your password and maintaining control of the email account connected to your TheFootballThing account.

Data retention and account deletion

  • Some records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or maintaining accurate competition results.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting the developer.

  • Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete information stored through Firebase or delete your TheFootballThing account.

TheFootballThing is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If the developer learns that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.
